I’ve always been a huge fan of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead, so when I heard that he was a certified scuba diver, I knew I had to try it myself. I signed up for a scuba diving course and was soon on my way to the Caribbean to dive with Jerry.

Meeting Jerry Garcia

The Dive

Jerry and I started our dive at a shallow reef. We swam along the reef, looking at the colorful coral and fish. We saw parrotfish, angelfish, and even a few sharks.

After a while, we decided to explore a deeper part of the reef. We swam down to about 60 feet, and the water became much darker. We had to use our dive lights to see.

Encountering Sea Turtles

One of the highlights of my dive with Jerry Garcia was encountering a group of sea turtles. We were swimming along a coral reef when we saw a large green sea turtle. The turtle was just swimming along, minding its own business.
