I never thought I would be brave enough to jump out of a plane, but I always dreamed of flying. When I saw an ad for the Army Skydiving Team, I knew I had to try out.

Background

I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of flying. As a kid, I would spend hours watching birds soar through the sky, and I dreamed of one day being able to do the same. When I was 18, I finally got my chance to experience the thrill of flying when I went skydiving for the first time.

I was hooked from the moment I jumped out of the plane. The feeling of freefall was unlike anything I had ever experienced before. It was exhilarating and terrifying at the same time, and I knew that I had to do it again.

After my first skydive, I started taking lessons and quickly became proficient in the sport. I loved the challenge of learning new skills and the feeling of accomplishment I got from completing each jump.

After a few years of skydiving, I decided that I wanted to take my skills to the next level and try out for the Army Skydiving Team. I knew that it would be a long and difficult process, but I was determined to give it my all.
The tryouts were held at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and I was one of over 100 candidates who were vying for a spot on the team. The tryouts consisted of a series of physical and mental tests, as well as several skydives.

The Tryouts

The Training

The Jumps

Jumping out of a plane is an exhilarating and unforgettable experience. I have been fortunate to complete hundreds of jumps, both solo and in formation.
My first solo jump was one of the most terrifying and exhilarating experiences of my life. I was nervous, but I was also excited to finally achieve my dream of flying.

I stepped out of the plane and into the void. The wind rushed past me as I fell towards the earth. I felt a surge of adrenaline as I freefell through the air.
After a few seconds, I pulled the cord and my parachute opened. I floated gently towards the ground, taking in the breathtaking views.

I have since completed hundreds of jumps, and each one is just as exhilarating as the first. I have jumped from different altitudes, in different weather conditions, and with different teams.

One of my most memorable jumps was a night jump. I jumped out of a plane at night and freefell through the darkness. It was an incredible experience to see the stars above me and the city lights below me.

I am grateful for the opportunity to jump out of planes and experience the freedom of flight. It is a truly amazing feeling, and I am proud to be a member of the Army Skydiving Team.
