I’ve always been a bit of an adrenaline junkie, so when I heard about the New River Gorge Bridge Bungee Jumping, I knew I had to try it. I’d never bungee jumped before, but I figured, “What’s the worst that could happen?”
I booked my jump online and arrived at the bridge on a beautiful summer day. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they made sure I was properly harnessed and ready to jump. I took a deep breath and stepped off the platform.
Planning My Jump
I’ve always been fascinated by bungee jumping, but it wasn’t until I saw a video of someone jumping off the New River Gorge Bridge that I knew I had to try it for myself. The bridge is over 800 feet high, and the thought of jumping off of it was both terrifying and exhilarating.
I started planning my jump by doing some research online. I read about the different bungee jumping companies that operate at the bridge, and I compared their prices and safety records. I also read reviews from other people who had jumped off the bridge, and I watched videos of the jumps.
Once I had chosen a company, I booked my jump online. I was able to choose the date and time of my jump, and I also had the option to purchase a video of my jump.
In the weeks leading up to my jump, I started to get nervous. I had never done anything like this before, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I started to imagine all the things that could go wrong, and I even considered backing out.
But on the day of my jump, I was determined to go through with it; I arrived at the bridge and checked in with the staff. They weighed me and fitted me with a harness. Then, they led me to the platform where I would be jumping from.
I took a deep breath and stepped onto the platform. I looked down at the river below, and I felt a surge of fear. But I knew that I couldn’t back down now. I took another deep breath and jumped.
The freefall was amazing. I felt like I was flying. The wind was rushing past me, and I could see the river below me getting closer and closer.
After a few seconds, the bungee cord snapped me back up. I swung back and forth for a few minutes, and then I was lowered to the ground.
I was so glad that I had decided to go through with my jump. It was an incredible experience, and I would definitely do it again.
